Presentation Abstract: Tower Power

This Case Study is a real-life situation involving a structural engineer, a prime architect, a Fortune-500 client, several public agencies, a number of consultants and one amazingly tall building in New York City.  The study is largely based on a 1995 New Yorker magazine article, “The Fifty-Nine-Story Crisis,” written by Joe Morgenstern. Since its publication, the story has been cited repeatedly by design professionals and their organizations as a case study in ethics.
